Direct utilization of gaseous fuels in metal supported solid oxide fuel cells
نویسندگان
چکیده
Direct utilization and internal reforming of gaseous fuels is investigated on symmetric-architecture metal supported solid oxide fuel cells (MS-SOFCs) with thin ceramic electrolyte scaffold backbone layers, low cost ferritic stainless steel supports both sides. Infiltrated Pr-oxide Ni/samarium-doped ceria catalysts are added to the cathode anode electrodes, respectively. Initial performance durability evaluated for MS-SOFCs operating natural gas, propane, ammonia, dimethyl ether at 700 °C. Cells gas propane utilize a novel high entropy alloy (HEA) catalyst degradation rates similar H2 (0.5 W cm?2 ?12%/100 h). testing sulfur shows reversible levels found in irreversible higher commercial propane. Overall, show successful flexibility.

Three-dimensional modeling of transport phenomena in a planar anode-supported solid oxide fuel cell
In this article three dimensional modeling of a planar solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) was investigated. The main objective was to attain the optimized cell operation. SOFC operation simulation involves a large number of parameters, complicated equations, (mostly partial differential equations), and a sophisticated simulation technique; hence, a finite element method (FEM) multiphysics approach ...
